日本奈良时代模仿唐制逐步建立了律令制封建国家，其中，科举选仕制度的确立在日本律令制国家形成过程中起到了关键作用。当然，奈良朝贵族统治者并非对唐代科举原样照搬，而是进行了一定程度的改进，从而使唐日科举文化具有一定的差异。“崇玄”思想是李唐时代科举文化的重要特点之一，而奈良朝统治者对待老子思想学说则采取了相反的态度。对待老子思想的不同态度也反映了日本统治者在吸收中国文化过程中的策略考量。

Modeled on that of Dang in China, Law system was established in Nara Period in Japan, in the formation of which the imperial examination system played a key role.Of course, aristocrats in Nara Dynasty didn’ t copy the examination system of Dang, but changed and improved it, causing certain differences in the two cultures.“Xuan Advocation” was one of the most important char-acteristics in the imperial culture of Li Tang Period, but, in treating Lao tze thought, Nara took an opposite attitude to that of Tang. The different attitudes reflect the strategy of Japan in absorbing Chinese culture .
