门静脉高压、内毒素血症、肝性脑病、腹水为肝硬化常见的并发症，现代医学行之有效的方法不多。介绍了穴位敷贴、中药灌肠、穴位注射、肝病治疗仪肝区照射等常见中医外治法的概念、方法及用途。从肝硬化门静脉高压症、肝硬化内毒素血症、肝硬化肝性脑病、肝硬化腹水甚至乙型肝炎肝硬化抗病毒治疗应答情况等角度回顾近年来穴位敷贴、中药灌肠、穴位注射、肝病治疗仪肝区照射在各自领域的疗效、机制研究等方面的相关文献，肯定了中医外治法对肝硬化并发症治疗的积极作用和疗效，其简便易行、安全性好、价格低廉，患者易于接受。同时，对目前中药外治如何使用透皮促进剂来提高药物吸收度问题、对中医外治法的研究对照组设置等提出进一步研究的建议。

Portal hypertension,endotoxemia,hepatic encephalopathy,and ascites are common complications of liver cirrhosis,and there are few effective treatment methods for them in modern medicine.Common concepts,methods,and application of external therapy of tradi-tional Chinese medicine (TCM),such as acupoint application,TCMenema,acupoint injection,and irradiation of the liver region using liv-er disease therapy instrument,are introduced.The literature on the efficacy and mechanism of acupoint application,TCM enema,acupoint injection,and irradiation of the liver region using liver disease therapy instrument is reviewed from the aspects of portal hypertension,endo-toxemia,hepatic encephalopathy,and ascites in patients with liver cirrhosis and even response to antiviral therapy for hepatitis B cirrhosis. It is concluded that external therapy of TCMis effective,easy to operate,safe,and inexpensive in the treatment of the complications of liver cirrhosis,with easy acceptance by patients.Meanwhile,further research is recommended to investigate more topics in external therapy of TCM,such as the use of transdermal enhancer to improve drug absorption,the design of control group,etc.
