    Combined with small reservoirs, dam safety classification at home and abroad are analyzed. The grades of small reservoirs and present dam safety classification depending on traditional design cri-teria could not meet the requirements of risk assessment of small reservoir dams. Thus, it is necessary to set up hazard potential classification of dam safety.
