Mathematics education is a knowledge transmission chain. New mathematics, in particular new discoveries that changes the fundamental nature of mathematics, creates pressure on the contents of this knowledge chain. We present Voevosky’s new foundation of mathematics which is built by using homotopy theory from topology. We investigate some problems arising from the transmission of new knowledge along the mathematics education chain, make some recommendations and discuss how this affect the mathematics training of talented students.
