探讨旅游引导下的新型城镇化的内涵、基本模式以及国际旅游岛建设背景下海南省城市化的模式选择。旅游引导的新型城镇化，是旅游开发与区域发展和城镇化进程全面结合，并在产业上趋于融合，形成旅游产业导向下泛旅游产业聚合的区域经济与城镇化综合开发模式。该模式的优势在于：解决了农民的身份问题，无污染、美化城市，就地城镇化，有利于实现城乡统筹。论述了“大中型城镇化模式”、“旅游城镇建设模式”、“旅游综合体模式”和“旅游新农村社区模式”等四种模式的功能特征、发展方向和运营模式。旅游引导的新型城镇化模式在海南城镇化过程中得到了充分体现，具有典型的代表性，与21世纪生态文明的城市理念不谋而合。

This paper discusses the context and basic model of the new style of tourism-oriented urbanization, as wel as the selection of an urbanization model in Hainan province in the context of international tourism-island construction. The tourism-oriented new-style urbanization model is characterized by a comprehensive integration of tourism exploitation and regional development and urbanization. The advantages of this model are as follows: it solves the problem of farmers’ identity, it involves no pol ution, it beautiifes the city, urbanization occurs in situ, and it favors the coordination of urban-rural development. The model expounds the functional characteristics and direction of development, as wel as the operational aspects of “the large and medium-sized urbanization model”, the “tourism town construction model”, the “tourism complex model”, and the “new rural communities tourism model”. The tourism-oriented new-style urbanization model fully relfects the processes of urbanization in Hainan province. The model adopts characteristics that coincide with the conception of a civilized and ecological city in the twenty-ifrst century.
