Taking a type of hybrid power system of a hybrid electric city bus in China as the researched prototype, the authors analyze the constitution and work state of the alternating current generator module of the system. Accord-ing to the work peculiarity of the hybrid electric city bus, they present a scheme to improve the alternating current generator module of the hybrid power system. At last, the theoretical calculation, software simulation and real bus test confirm the better comprehensive performance of the improved system.
