利用丰富、廉价且可再生的木质纤维原料生产燃料乙醇,对经济和社会的可持续发展有着重要的意义。综述以纤维素生物质为原料生产燃料乙醇的几种不同工艺,包括分步水解发酵( SHF )、同步糖化发酵( SSF )、同步糖化共发酵( SS-CF)、非等温同步糖化发酵(NSSF)、直接微生物转化法(DMC)以及间接生产乙醇的技术,并比较它们的优缺点。总结构成燃料乙醇生产成本偏高的关键因素,并对今后进一步研究工作提出了建议。

Lignocellulosic biomass is a cheap , renewable , abundantly available resource , and its bioconversion to fuel ethanol is meaningful in the sustainable development of our society and economy .Several technologies for fuel ethanol production by fermentation of cellulosic biomass were summarized in this paper , including separate hydrolysis and fermentation ( SHF) , simultaneous saccharification fermentation ( SSF) ,simultaneous saccharifica-tion and co -fermentation ( SSCF ) , non -isothermal simultaneous saccharification and fermentation ( NSSF ) , direct microbial conversion ( DMC) and indirect techniques for producing ethanol .Their merits and drawbacks were compared , the key factors making the cost of fuel ethanol production higher were summarized , and feasible suggestions for further researches were presented .
