In light of the knowledge learned from the historical experiences about patriotic health education , sanitation campaign, and eradicating schistosomiasis in China , this paper proposes that in confronting chronic diseases in China , those involved should follow a communities-based, key diseases-oriented, internationally standardized and scientific approach.
