The residential needs of new urban population and the existing population demand im-proves construction of urban housing, which result in energy consumption of urban residential building growth. The energy consumption of urban residential construction showed obvious growth trend, it increased from 61.73 million tce in 1996 to 131.17 million tce in 2010, had more than doubled, and this phe-nomenon will remain for a long time. The energy consumption of urban residential construction is re-searched, proposing the corresponding energy-saving measures, then implement the measures. The corre-sponding measures can not change the growth trend, but can slow down the growth rate. Residential build-ing energy conservation is a work which should not be ignored.
