传统的水文监测手段，只是将探测到的湿度、风速、风向、雨量、水质、水流速、水量、水位、视频图像或图片等数字化信息通过网络上传到在线监测监视中心，然后将一系列的监测数据，图像等原始信息显示在监视监测中心的大屏幕上，这是一个将实体水文环境抽象为数值或图像信息的过程，抽象出的各种水文属性值缺少可视性，整合性，实时性，不能高效的为管理人员的决策调度提供最佳依据。网络游戏的逼真场景展示给人的视觉体验有目共睹，以美国Google公司推出的数字地球Google Earth为代表的新一代数字地球技术的崛起、快速展与广泛应用，带给人们全新的可视化的浏览体验，也给传统的水文监测手段带来了挑战。如果基于Google Earth的三维的GIS的思路，模仿网络游戏的逼真场景来三维立体的展示监测水区的各种水文属性，将会给水文调度提供更加直接、有效的参考，促进更加有效的区域水环境治理。

The traditional method of hydrological monitoring only transmits the digital data such as Humidity, wind, speed, wind direction, rainfall, water quality, water velocity, water content, water level to the monitoring center via the Internet. Some origi-nal, unprocessed information will be displayed on the screen in the monitoring center, a process that only shows the hydrological properties with numbers and charts, which obviously is not visual, integrated, real-time, thus not being able to provide accurate references for the administrative staff in the field of water resources. Google ’s product“Google earth”provides an effective and brand new way for people to look at the earth and also provides inspirations for creating a much more effective hydrological mon-itoring System.
