Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) is a relatively new general-purpose transport layer protocol. The characteristics of multi-homing and multi-stream make SCTP both provide better service for application layer and extend service at transport layer, thus having received wide attention. This paper introduces SCTP, simulates and implements the SCTP association management process based on Linux system, meanwhile presenting some key points to which we should pay enough attention in the process of simulation.
