The layout, operation and allocation of steam system at Shagang’s home com-pany were introduced. Through rational layout and economic allocation the steam utilization rate was improved, to maximize the economic benefit of steam. An analysis of the steam uti-lization of Shagang provides useful reference for planning of steam pipe network, layout of new steam projects and allocation of steam operation of other steel companies.
