地名错误是期刊校对中常见的错误之一，因字形相近而误、因读音相同而误和因地名的历史演进而误是地名致误的三大主要原因，编校人员应予以充分的注意，并恰当利用工具书和网络资源，力求将差错率降到最低。

Mistakes in place names are common ones in the proofreading for journals. The main three reasons lie in the mistakes due to the similarity in appearance, pronunciation or historical evolution of place names.
