The structure of the vacuum system and the selection basis of the vacuum pump are introduced for the vacuum laser collimator system for dam deformation monitoring. Combined with the technical parameters of the vacuum pump, the methods for calculating the main parameters of the vacuum system are described from the limiting vacuity of the vacuum chamber, working vacuity, effective pumping speed of the vacuum pump and air exhaust time. The selection basis of evacuated tube materials and the design method of pipe wall thickness are discussed. By using the above methods, the vacuum system of Gezhouba vacuum laser alignment monitoring system is designed and applied, and the field tests show that all the technical parameters of the vacuum system meet the design requirements.
