Several kernel issues of condition-based maintenance technology for hydropower units such as: its core and aim, artificial intelligence, individuality and universality of units, good condition standards are explored according to current situation of condition-based maintenance for domestic hydraulic generator. Focal points of this technology are also pointed out. Healthy developing idea of condltion-based maintenance technology for hydropower units is put forward based on the practical needs of hydropower plant and practical technical level.
