The basic situation of advanced application software of hydropower dispatching automation system (HDAS) is introduced. And the practical applications of main HDAS advanced softwares, as well as their existing problems, are also discussed. The development trend of hydropower operation management and its technical function demands on large-scale hydropower operation, joint operation of hydropower and new energy sources and power grid meteorological impact evaluation are analyzed. Finally, the development direction of integrating, generalization and intellectualization for the advanced application software of HDAS are proposed.
