在海水土池养殖条件下,菊黄东方鲀养殖早期生长速度比后期快,从季节上看,秋季生长最快,其他季节较慢,最适生长水温范围为23～29℃。体长与体重关系的幂函数方程W=0.05017L2.7866,R2=0.9739,生长近似等速生长。摄食高峰时的光照强度在1 900 lux左右,属于偏晨昏的白昼型鱼类。摄食响应时间短,摄食方式呈从底层向表层急冲吞食膨化饵料,有集群索饵特点,适宜定时定点进行投饵。
