两汉是中国古代丝织业发展的重要时期,其生产规模大、分工细,且表现出明显的奢侈品生产特点。汉代市场丝织品数量多,贸易兴盛,上至君主下至城市平民对丝织品的消费都比较大,在消费群体上表现出明显的等级差异性,这种差异性尤其表现在对特种丝织品的消费上。汉代奢侈丝织品的生产使得当时手工业向背本趋末的方向发展,同时,丝织品生产结构的合理性在很大程度上又促进了城市市场功能的完善,带动了其他行业的进步,进而推动了城市经济的发展。

The con- sumption of silk to the monarch of the urban poor are very large during Han Dynasty, the significant of consumer groups have showed differencely, the consumption of special silk is a signal of Political identity and a status sym- hol. The production of city luxury silk makes the development of the handicraft industry support or opposes this trend in the direction of the late. Meanwhile during Han Dynasty, the rationality about the production structure of the Han Dynasty silk promote the improvement of the urban markets function greatly, led to the progress of other industries, thus promoting the economic development of the city.
