Shaped beam technology for base station antenna is often used to improve communication quality and reduce the interference on adjacent area, but shaped beam technology will decline the antenna gain. The gain reduction of shaped beam antenna can be calculated through pattern integration method which is complex. A power synthetic method for feed network by analyzing the received signal on base station antenna is introduced, by which the gain reduction of shaped base station antenna can be calculated only by a few simple mathematical operations.
