寒湿内盛是导致太阴病腹满的主要因素,太阴病腹满的特殊性在于吐下之后反增不减,说明寒湿之邪不仅在肠道之内,还停聚于肠道之外、腹腔之中.据太阴病提纲证“胸下结硬”的描述,可知太阴病当为肝硬化、门脉高压所致充血性脾肿大之类的病症.四逆汤以其温化寒湿之功治疗太阴病腹满,体现出其具有促进肝硬化失代偿功能恢复的作用.
