Technical difficulties about Model 6L280 engine crankshaft casting of ductile iron have been discussed, corresponding casting process have been determined and have been verified during production to be reasonable and effective. The chemical composition, metallurgical structure, inherent and surface quality and mechanical properties of Model 6L280 engine crankshaft castings of ductile iron have met the requirements for product specification.
