梅岭A是江西农业大学农学院以Ⅱ-32A作母本，Ⅱ-32B/新露B//中9B的F5代优良株系作父本测交，并经多代择优回交转育而成的优质中籼型三系不育系，具有株型紧凑，穗大粒多，败育彻底，育性稳定，开花习性好，异交结实率高，易于繁制种，配合力高等特点。于2011年10月通过江西省育性鉴定，适用于配制超高产杂交中晚稻新组合。

Derived from the crossing between Ⅱ-32 A (female parent) and (Ⅱ-32B/Xinlu B//Zhong 9B) F5(male par-ent) , Meiling A is a new medium indica CMS line with good quality , developed by College of Agronomy , Jiangxi Agricultural Uni-versity.It has the characteristics of compact plant type , bigger tassel and more grains , complete and stable male sterility , and high combining ability.Besides, it is easy for Meiling A to conduct multiplication and hybrid seed production due to its good flowering habit and high outcrossing setting rate .In October, 2011, Meiling A passed the sterility identification in Jiangxi province .This vari-ety was applicable to the preparation of ultra -high-yielding hybrid medium and late rice combinations .
