杀微生物剂是一类可在性交前应用于阴道或直肠内，杀死或灭活引起疾病的病原体的天然或人工合成物质，可预防HIV和其他性传播疾病。杀微生物剂能阻断HIV的传播，无刺激性，作用时间长，不被人体吸收，并且它的使用由妇女自己控制，无需性伴侣的主动协同和知晓，不影响自然性交过程。对杀微生物剂的概念、分类及研究进展进行了概述。

AIDS, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, is spreading more and more rapidly around the world, which has become the fourth leading cause of death threatening people＇ s health. Microbicides are natural or synthesized compounds applied vaginally or rectally before or during sexual activities to inactivate the pathogen （virus or bacterium, such as HIV）. It could therefore prevent the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. A preferred microbicide should possess broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, non-irritating, long-acting and no systemic absorption. Moreo- ver, microbicides can be controlled by women without the male partner＇ s knowledge, cooperation or consent, exerting no influence on the natural sexual intercourse. This article reviews the concept, classification and current progress of microbicides.
