We outline the electro-optic properties of VA-LCOS with computer simulation, based upon the method of optical Jones. In the VA-LCOS technology, there is an infinite degeneracy for homeotropic anchoring. In this case, paired umbilics appear, which can be described approximately as the line defects. The elastic energy of single umbilic and the pair interaction are introduced.
