在光纤射频传输中,毫米波信号的产生一直倍受关注.毫米波信号的产生方式直接影响光纤射频传输系统的整体架构设计、可用带宽以及成本.本文采用CMOS技术、光调制技术以及基于四波混频效应的几种毫米波信号产生方式的工作原理和优缺点进行了分析和比较,得出了全光上变换方式具有基站成本低、射频信号稳定、动态范围大的优势.最后指出,在实际光纤射频传输系统中,各种毫米波信号产生方式都将得到采用,关键取决于系统的应用场合.

The generation of millimeter-wave signal in radio-over-fiber(ROF) systems has always been studied intensely by many researchers.The generation methods decide the whole configuration,available bandwidth,and deployment cost of the ROF system.In this paper,the operation principle of several different generation methods of millimeter-wave signal are illustrated,based on CMOS technology,optical modulation and four-wave mixing effect,Their advantages and disadvantages are also compared.It is concluded that all optical up-conversion method has many advantages such as low-cost base station,stable signal power,and large dynamic range.At last,it is pointed out that different millimeter-wave generation methods will be used in different real ROF systems according to the application case.
