材料作为产品设计的基础，以其自身的固有特性和情感语义成为设计过程中不可缺少的重要因素。不同的材料因其材质、工艺等原因而呈现给人们不同的感觉特性。文章通过对材料的特性进行归纳总结，着重从新材料及固有材料的创新使用，对设计师们使用材料的优秀产品方案进行分析，对设计领域的前沿进行描述，阐述了材料特性在产品创新设计中的运用。

As the basis of product design, with its own inherent characteristics and emotional implication, material becomes an essential factor in design process. Different materials have different perceptional charac- teristics because of its quality, processing and other aspects. This article summarizes the characteristics of materials, especially based on the innovative use of new and existing materials, analyzing designers＇ excellent product solutions, describing the leading design field and expounding the use of material properties in innovative product design.
