The reverse recovery problem of the fast recovery diode is briefly presented in this paper. After a detailed analysis of the turning off process of the diode, the lumped charge model is developed. The model is implemented with the MatlablSimulink simulation tool. The simulation results are consistent with the ratings in data sheet, verifying the correctness and practicability of the model.
