As a well-developing biomedical phonetics technique,near infrared spectroscopy（NIRS）had many advantages such as non-invasive and safe detection in real-time and in vivo,continuous and quick quantification of certain elements in human tissue.With the development of science and technology in sports,NIRS has been paid close attention by the sports researchers.Nowadays NIRS has been the topic and research focus in sports science.Based on methods of documentation,the authors collected and analyzed related literature about the application of NIRS in sports at home and abroad in recent years.Principals,parameters and limitations of NIRS were analyzed.And the prospects were explored.NIRS was a very useful and potential technique in sports.The further development and application was expected to be carried out.
