山东现代教育，最初是学习苏联教育经验，用政治批判和政治斗争方式解决学术和知识分子思想改造问题，确立党的领导和突出思想政治教育。创办半工半读教育制度，建立与计划经济相适应的教育体系；改革开放后，抢抓机遇，迅速确立了山东教育大省的地位，大力发展中、高等职业教育，有力地推进了山东由教育大癌向教育强省的迈进。以往的教育经验为今后山东教育的发展提供了有益的启示。

Modern educational system in Shandong Province initially follows the Soviet model which handles academic issues and the intelligentsia＇s thought reform through political criticism and ideological struggle while strengthening the Party＇s leadership, emphasizing political awareness and initiating the work-study program to usher in an educational system that matches the planned economy. After the adoption of reform and opening-up, Shandong Province, seizing the opportunity to adjust its educa- tional structure to enhance secondary and higher vocational education, is now on the path to transform itself from ＇a province of big educational scale＇ to ＇a province strong in education＇. Experience of the past decades gives implications to the Province＇s fu- ture educational development.
