Features of sulphur recovery process and heating methods for process gas used in China are described.Advantages and disadvantages of some heating methods for process gas,including high-temperature blending,online furnace heating,steam heating,gas-gas heat exchange and electric heating,are analyzed and compared.Installation position and material selection of high-temperature blending valve and heating methods for Claus tail gas are discussed.It is proposed that designers should choose the best heating method for process gas according to heat source reliability,plant size,operating flexibility,acid gas composition,plant layout and investment.
