In the paper, the magnetic imprinting material was synthesized by surface im- printing technology on the surface of vinyl-functional magnetic Fe304 particles, with salo- phen as functional monomer, Th (Ⅳ) ion as template, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the cross-linking and azodiisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator. The opti- mum conditions for absorption of Th ( Ⅳ) ion on the magnetic imprinting material were dis- cussed. The results show that the maximum absorption capacity of imprinting material is 42.54μg,/mg when the initial concentration is 70 p,g/mL in 30min contact time at pH 4.5. the relative selectivity coefficient values of the synthesized adsorbent for Th( Ⅳ )/La (Ⅲ ), Th (Ⅳ )/Ce ( Ⅲ ), and Th ( Ⅳ)/U ( Ⅵ) were 82.2,93.1 and 62.4 times greater than that of the non-imprinted matrix, respectively. It suggests that Th ( Ⅳ ) ion could be detection using the magnetic Th (Ⅳ)-imprinted polymer in the present of La (Ⅲ),ce(Ⅲ) and U(Ⅳ).
