According to the teaching reform of metalworking practice in the Engineering Training Center of North China Electric Power University, the specific measures and effect of practice teaching reform are introduced in this paper to deal with some problems existing in the reform of metalworking practice including the teaching content reorganization, the realization of the fusion between the traditional processing method and modern manufacturing technology, the improve- ment on teaching means and methods, and the realization of multimedia teaching and network teaching and so on. By updating the teaching concept, the reform of metalworking practice should be adapted to the requirement of society for the cultivation of compound talents. In the process of teaching reform of metalworking practice, the construction of teacher team should be streng thened with the practice teaching standardized. The teaching efficiency and teaching quality can be improved by optimizing the teaching contents in the teaching reform of metalworking practice.
