It concluded that the reverse osmosis membrane is fouled mainly by microbes and organic pollutants basing on the analysis of operating parameters of the RO system, the fouling of cartridge filter, and the testing results of SDI filtration membrane, at the same time inorganic scaling is likely to form complex pollutants. Accordingly, the bactericide cleaning, alkaline cleaning and acid cleaning process is brought forward and put in practice. The inlet pressure drops evidently and the permeate output increases remarkably, which is a satisfying result.
