Appreciation of Poetry in Tang and Song Dynasty written by Xia Chengtao is the classic and right book on the inter- pretations of poetry in Tang and Song Dynasty. It has 39 charming and attracting essays in it and a noble and fresh analysis style. In the book, Xia Chengtao, as one of the greatest lexicologist in China, thinks about the ancient poetry with the literatus＇ sensitive mind with the better understanding of the ancient poets, makes comments on public figures and social affairs, and tells us how things develop from one small clue. He also creates the lexical context with the romantic temper, absorbed in it leisurely and analyzes the words reasonably and precisely.
