“归化”与“异化”是翻译理论中传递文化内涵的两个重要翻译策略,在国内外曾经引起了广泛争论。在翻译过程中译者使用“归化”还是”异化”的能动选择受制于诸多因素的影响。以“OTHERquachs,plaguetakethem”中译本为例,笔者从归化与异化的概念、文化因素及其翻译、信息对等和归化与异化的融合等四个方面浅析了归化与异化翻译策略的异同,进而得出译者只有在翻译教学中采用归化与异化翻译策略相互融合的原则,才能够实现母语文化与目的语文化内涵的鉴赏和吸收,达到最佳的翻译效果,从而提高大学生的文化素养和科学素质。

“Domestication”and“foreignization”are two different kinds of translation strategies conveying cultural connotations in translation theories, which has aroused heated discussion among the scholars at home and abroad. In the process of translation, how to use domestication or foreignization depends on several different factors for the translator. With the Chinese translations of“OTHER quachs, plague take them”as an example, the writer makes a brief analysis of the differences and similarities in domestication or foreignization in terms of the concepts of domestication or foreignization, cultural factors, information equivalent as well as the integration of domestication or foreignization. Finally, a conclusion has been drawn that only by means of the mutual integration of domestication and foreignization in the translation teaching, can the translator achieve the goal of the cultural appreciation and absorption between the target language and the native language and fulfil the best translation effect, thus improving the cultural literacy and scientific quality for the college students.
