The dye-sensitized solar cell(DSSC)mainly imitated the principle of photosynthesis,converting the solar energy into the electric power with the nano-particle semiconductor.In recent years,the sensitizers were investigated widely and rapid development was achieved.The fundamental structure and operation principle of the DSSC were presented.The design and synthesis of different dyes,and their properties effects on the DSSC were all reviewed,specially the pyridine ruthenium complexes,and future study was also involved.
