3D ECDIS 在先进船舶导航装备研究领域备受关注,因为它的应用将为电子航海(E-Navigation)的发展提供有效的技术平台,但是针对海床地形的大数据问题,目前仍然缺乏有效的解决方法。为了实现3D ECDIS,提出基于面向区域层次细节算法优化海床地形数据显示,即利用船舶周围海域的航行安全级别与动态航速建立区域层次细节(ALOD)绘制模型,用于控制图形 GPU 网格细分程序,因而在保持几何精度的前提下,大量减少了3D 绘制节点,从而实现海床地形的高质量快速绘制。通过实验定量与定性分析了该方法的有效性,为3D ECDIS 的实现提供了有效的方法。

3D ECDIS has aroused widely interest in the research community of state-of-the art marine navigation equipment, since it can provide an effective technique platform for the development of E-Navigation. However, there is still not an effective solution to implement 3D ECDIS due to the large data problem in mapping sea-bed terrain. In order to implement 3D ECDIS, an area-oriented level of detailed rendering algorithm is proposed to optimize the sea-bed terrain data rendering. Namely, navigation safe levels of sea-areas around the ship and dynamic speed are utilized to construct the area level of detail (ALOD) rendering model, which is used to control GPU tessellation program. Sea-bed terrain can be fast rendered with high quality, since the number of 3D vertexes is largely reduced on the premise of preserving the geometric accuracy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by performing quantitative and qualitative analysis.
