Process design and equipment selection of Daye Nonferrous Metal Co.' s 700 kt/a sulphuric acid plant based on copper smelter off-gas are described.The plant adopted a cleaning section consisting of two-stages DynaWave scrubbers,packed cooling tower and two-stages wet electrostatic precipitators,a 3+1"ⅣⅠ-ⅢⅡdouble absorption process and tail gas treatment using new catalytic desulphurization technology.The 72 h full-load operation with 10.39% SO2 at converter inlet showed stable running,with the total conversion of 99.39%,absorption efficiency of 99.99%,tail gas SO2 concertration of 197 mg/m3,process water consumption of 4.0 m3/t,power consumption of 107.04 kWh/t and production of 16 t/h 0.6 MPa,164 ℃ low-pressure saturated steam.
