This paper discussed definitions and thermodynamics criteria of spontaneous processes,and pointed out some problems that exist in some text books and documents about above content.A precise definition of spontaneous processes and the conditions of applying the thermodynamics criteria were given.The teaching suggestions on spontaneous processes were put forward.
