To overcome local optimum and unstable operation of the standard BP , the additional decline momentum method to improve BP was proposed in this paper .Two models based on standard BP and improved BP were established to diagnose the rotary machine’s common faults . The results of contrast show that the improved BP could enhance the velocity of convergence and overcome the shortcomings of standard BP intrinsic properties .
