Starting with the quality of raw water in Baosteel’s pure water membrane treatment system and in light of the process flow and addition of chemical agents, it was concluded that contamination existed in the reverse osmosis membrane. Then suitable chemi-cal cleaning agents as well as methods were selected to ensure sound operation of the sys-tem, which plays an important role in safe and stable supply of pure water to Baosteel.
