Objective To assess the correlation between plasma adropin levels and cardiac function in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods 108 patients with AMI and 60 healthy people were enrol ed. Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) was assessed by echocardiography. Plasma adropin levels were measured by enzyme- linked im-munosorbent assay(ELISA). Cardiac function was determined according to Kil ip classification. Results Plasma adropin levels were significantly higher in AMI group than in control group [(11.46±1.59)ng/ml vs (6.28±0.72)ng/ml, P<0.01]. Plasma adropin level increased with the increment of Kil ip classification (r=0.318, P<0.01) and was negatively correlated with LVEF(r=- 0.225, P<0.01). Conclusion Patients with high adropin may have deteriorated cardiac function after AMI. Adropin may be a potential biomarker reflecting cardiac function in patients with AMI.
