1-bromo-2-methoxy-4(3-methoxypropoxy) benzene is synthesized from 2-methoxyphenol, which reacts with acetic anhydride to give 2-methoxyphenyl acetate. 2-methoxyphenyl acetate is subjected to bromination,hydrolysis and replacement to give TM, with an overall yield of 83%.
