The paper introduces the core idea, working procedure, critical construction technology of new Italian tunneling method, compares it with new Austrian tunneling method, and summarizes its advantages. Simultaneously, it makes a proof by introducing the weak deformation hole construction experience of Jinping water hole, with a view to provide guidance for the application and proniotion of ＂new Italian tunneling method＂.
