新建本科院校要提高其机械类人才竞争力,就应该结合行业的发展需求,将能在生产一线从事工作的机械工程师作为培养目标,并将企业界对机械工程师的要求引入到人才培养方案中,建立相应的培养质量标准。培养过程中,尤其要突出和加强学生对机械零部件的识图、绘图能力和测量、受力分析能力等五大能力的培养。
