Building information modeling is an innovative approach to building design,construction,and manage-ment that is characterized by the continuous availability of highly accurate,consistent and reliable building information. BIM allows the proj ect team to visualize,simulate,and analyze a proj ect before construction even begins using a three-dimensional model representing all of the physical and functional characteristics of a facility.The paper discuss the application of BIM visualization technology in the construction period on the basis of BIM theory.The newly-develo-ping pipes main steelmaking proj ect building,which was located in Sanshan district Wuhu city,is taken as the BIM model to realize visual simulation and then optimize the scheme.
