谢灵运“自弱龄奉法”，从小接触佛教，再加上生而颖悟的自身条件、佛经大量传译的文化氛围，使他一生与佛结下了不解之缘。他参与佛事，润改佛经，与高僧辩论、交游。这一切都使佛学渗透在他的思想、灵魂深处，不可避免地影响到他的诗文创作。他的佛学般若思想，在他对佛经的注解中以及在诗文创作中都得到了鲜明的体现。
사령운“자약령봉법”，종소접촉불교，재가상생이영오적자신조건、불경대량전역적문화분위，사타일생여불결하료불해지연。타삼여불사，윤개불경，여고승변론、교유。저일절도사불학삼투재타적사상、령혼심처，불가피면지영향도타적시문창작。타적불학반약사상，재타대불경적주해중이급재시문창작중도득도료선명적체현。
Xie Lingyun has believed and contacted with Buddhism as a childhood. Because that a large number of sutras have been trans-lated and spread, so that his life has formed a deep bond with Buddhism. He was involved in the Buddhist, modified the sutras, debated and toured with the monks. All have made the penetration of Buddhism in his mind and soul, and have inevitably affected his literary creation. His Buddhist Wisdom has been a distinct manifestation in his annotations to the Buddhist as well as in the literary creation.
