A new modified carbon paste electrode based on the composite of carbon nanotube-thiosemicarbazide as the carrier was prepared. The electrode exhibits a selective Nernst-potential slope of 30.7 mV/decade for Fe3+over a linear range of 3.5 × 10-7~1.0×10-1 mol/L. The detection limit of the electrode is 1.0 × 10-7 mol/L. The response time of the electrode is 15 s. The electrode shows a good selectivity for Fe3+and it can be successfully applied to the recovery of determination of Fe3+.
