The rise of MOOCs draws an enormous amount of attention worldwide recently,and is becoming a new force to drive the revolution in the field of higher education. This paper summarizes MOOCs from the aspects of its origin,development and characteristics,analyzes its mechanism of assessment and accreditation based on some real course-taking experiences,and also proposes a series of reacting strategies to deal with the impact from MOOCs,combining the reality of Self-taught Examination and ongoing reform exploration.
