明清时期，开封城及其近郊频遭黄河水患，学校与书院时有冲毁，文化教育的连续性被打断；众多承载文化传承之祠庙、古迹被冲无遗，破坏了信仰文化的多元性及文化发展的载体；诸类水体的相继湮废，虽推动了追忆或忧思诗章的勃兴，也在一定程度上桎梏了文化发展的生机，官方的补救性行为并未扭转文化发展的困境。
명청시기，개봉성급기근교빈조황하수환，학교여서원시유충훼，문화교육적련속성피타단；음다승재문화전승지사묘、고적피충무유，파배료신앙문화적다원성급문화발전적재체；제류수체적상계인폐，수추동료추억혹우사시장적발흥，야재일정정도상질곡료문화발전적생궤，관방적보구성행위병미뉴전문화발전적곤경。
During Ming and Qing Dynasties, Kaifeng city and its suburbs were often attacked by flood from the Huanghe River. With schools damaged, cultural education was always discontinued. With many temples and historical places-which bear the mark of cultural heritage-flooded away, the bearer of various cultures was destroyed. Various water bodies silted one after another, pushing the prosperity of retrospect and melancholy poems, yet hindering the vitality of cultural development to some extent. Shamefully, the official remedial actions did not reverse the plight.
